　　The First Day of the Winter Holiday

　　Today is the first day of the winter holiday, I get up at 7:00 a.m. I have my breakfast. I eat an egg and drink a bottle of milk for breakfast. Then my parents take me to go shopping. I m very excited because I can buy some delicious snacks, new clothes and some other things. After we go shopping, we have lunch at a small restaurant. The waitresses there are all polite and helpful. Then we go home. We sit on the sofa, eat snacks and watch TV. How happy we are!

　　下午兩點鐘，大熱的天兒，還要被爸爸拽著去上英語輔導班。我不喜歡英語課，更不喜歡好好的假期還要被拉去上英語課。

　　我不明白，為什么英語會是和語文數學一樣重要的學科，學習語文可以提高分析，閱讀，寫作能力，可以讓我們在各種美好的，離奇的，勵志的故事海洋里徜徉，學習數學可以提高我們的思維能力，解決生活中遇到的`實際問題，就算學個歷史，也可以讓我們知道中國上下五千年的光輝事跡，學習地理也可以讓我們不出門便可領略祖國的大好河山......學習英語呢？我不反對，生活中我們確實會遇到一些英文說明書，標志什么的，但也不至于把英語上升到和語文數學一樣的高度。

　　為了英語能考出好成績，幾乎每個家長都使出渾身解數，把自己的孩子推到各種輔導班。浪費了大量的人力物力，還有時間。可這對邊遠山區的孩子公平嗎？外公所在的小學根本就沒有英語課，就是想上英語輔導班，也找不到地方。外公經常說：真不明白，為什么一個外國的語言卻決定著很多中國的孩子能不能上好大學，真是國家的可悲。是呀，農村的孩子到中學才開始上英語課，我們卻已經在輔導班把初中的英語課程學完了。農村的孩子出生便倒在了英語的起跑線上，可悲，可嘆。

　　我不反對學英語，英語也絕不應該和我們的語文數學同比，可以和歷史，地理這樣的小學科并列，這樣既可以把我們的傳統文化發揚光大，也給了山區，農村邊遠地區孩子一個和我們站在同一起跑線的機會。
